Internationella Kvinnodagen Inclusion isn't just a buzzword for us; it's at the core of everything we do and as a female-founded skincare company, we’ve seen the transformative power of inclusion first-hand. #InspireraInkludering Today, and every other day, we want to highlight women who have inspired us through their development of skincare and cosmetic sciences and, by simply doing the work and occupying space, have inspired us and inclusion by creating products for women, by women.* *Of course it's impossible to acknowledge everyone, but here are a few skincare trailblazers that have inspired us. Contribution: Entrepreneur and cosmetics pioneer. Madam C.J. Walker was a trailblazer for African American women in business. She developed a line of beauty and skincare products for black women, empowering their expression and inclusion in the cosmetic sphere. Contribution: Entrepreneur and cosmetics pioneer. Achievements: Rubinstein revolutionized the beauty industry by promoting skincare and cosmetics as a form of self-expression for women. Contribution: Biochemist and skincare researcher. Achievements: Developed the tuberculin test for tuberculosis and contributed to the understanding of the chemistry of skin. Her work laid the foundation for advancements in skincare research, which inspires us in her fearless pursuit and advancement of skincare knowledge. Contribution: Biochemist and skincare researcher. Achievements: Advanced the development of skincare formulations, particularly in understanding the molecular and cellular processes affecting skin health. Contribution: Dermatologist and skincare researcher. Achievements: Involved in clinical studies and the development of skincare products, contributing to the advancement of dermatology and skincare interventions. Contribution: Materials scientist with implications for skincare technology. Achievements: Research on materials with unique properties that can contribute to the development of advanced skincare formulations. Contribution: Paula Begoun is a trailblazer who has spent her career dispelling industry-wide myths and sharing the unencumbered truth about skin and skincare to all by fostering ingredient knowledge and promoting evidence-based product choices. Achievements: Begoun founded Paula's Choice in 1995, after publishing many bestselling books, including "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me," which solidified her authority. Begoun's influence reshaped skincare trends globally, emphasising efficacy and ingredient transparency. Contribution: Deborah’s career with Paula’s Choice began over 20 years ago and she plays a crucial role in our skincare research and product development – continuing Paula’s legacy of truth-led, science-driven products. Achievements: Founded Paula’s Choice University—a digital learning platform that teaches all things Paula’s Choice, from its history to its products and ingredients. Contribution: AJ Addae founded SULA LABS, a research and development laboratory focused on creating cosmetics for people with darker skin tones. Achievements: She contributes to inclusive cosmetics and cultural progress, following in the footsteps of entrepreneurs like Rihanna and Madam C.J. Walker. We applaud all the work being done to continuously drive inclusion in the skincare and cosmetics industries, whether it’s the scientists in the labs or the shades on the shelf.
